Micah Hughey

Micah Hughey is a self-taught photographer and writer who began his journey in 2019, documenting musicians and mundane life in Southern California. Soon after, he launched his freelance career by contributing to Reckless Magazine, an independent publication based in Los Angeles, California. Micah has contributed six articles to Reckless Magazine and continues to do so as opportunities arise. In March of 2023, he joined SipaUSA, an international photo agency specializing in news, sports, and entertainment. Micah hopes to sell his photography through SipaUSA one day.

A tireless seeker of truth, Micah documents life and any circumstance he finds himself in, whenever he can. His camera is a tool for connection and transformation, with a sensitive eye for detail and a passion for storytelling, his work transcends and transports viewers into a multitude of subjects. Micah considers joining The Modern Insurgent a huge stepping stone to a lifelong pursuit of being a Freelance Photojournalist who documents on the ground. Micah wholeheartedly enjoys being around his like-minded colleagues.
