Eleanor Newis

Ellie Newis works as a writer and researcher with the Byline Times investigations team. Previously, she was a researcher with the charity Action On Armed Violence (AOAV) on their project 'Civilian casualties by British military engagements since World War II', where she focused on post-2001 conflicts. As part of this project, she also worked on research about the number of child casualties in Afghanistan, which was published by the BBC, Sky, ITV, Al Jazeera, and others. She is also an artist who has studied at the University of Oxford and the Slade School of Fine Art.
