The Modern Insurgent is an independent media organisation with 40+ writers, correspondents, reporters, editors, and media professionals from over 20 countries around the world. Our work focuses on insurgencies, rebel organisations, and political movements, notably those which are under-reported.
On top of our database of insurgency, we produce on-the-ground documentaries in high-risk areas, ranging from Nepal to Northern Ireland. Remarkably, we have achieved incredible growth and built a strong online following within just a year, without any external corporate investment or shareholders. We are entirely independent, and our work has distinguished itself through our use of Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) and other modern journalistic approaches.
